Amavubi land Tunisia, Libya friendlies
Rwanda’s football governing body, Ferwafa, identified Tunisia because of its geographical location, next to Algeria, who Amavubi play on June 2 in their first World Cup qualifying game before hosting Benin in Kigali on June 9.
Amavubi will then travel to Lagos for the return leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria due June 15-17.
Amavubi’s head coach Milutin Sredojevic Micho, who arrived back in Kigali on Tuesday said Libya had sent their paperwork and the Tunisian football federation was yet to send their formal acceptance but had published it on their website.
The Director of Sports in the Ministry of Sports and Culture, Emmanuel Bugingo, explained that the meeting will choose between the two countries.
A provisional squad is set to be named immediately once the football season comes to an end mid next month, Rwanda Football Association( Ferwafa’s) Secretary General, Michel Gasigwa, Amavubi has said.
