Babatunde Michael excited over dream debut for Nigeria’s Super Eagle
Super Eagle’s debutant Babatunde Michael, who plays for FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rihin in Ukrain, has described his maiden match with Nigeria as indescribable.
The 20-year-old also expressed sanctification with his performance in Saturday’s friendly that saw them cede 2-2 to Mexico, CONCACAF champions, in Houston, Texas, USA.
“Words cannot express my excitement for making my dream debut for my country at last. It was a sweet debut for me. On my first touch, I was nervous being the first time in such a game, but as a professional player, I adjusted and I was soon playing to my potentials.”
The former FC Heartland player, who was a second half substitute in yesterday match, also said he will remain grateful to coach Keshi for making his dream come true and that he is set to help Nigeria qualifier for the 2014 World Cup.
“I thank coach Keshi for this chance, I can’t forget this in my life and I am really eager to prove myself.”
“I am ready to prove more of myself in the subsequent matches and I fulfill my potentials. I am already thinking on how to make another great achievement by helping Nigeria win the ticket to the World Cup.
“That is the main priority and we must be ready to face the battles.”
Babatunde’s second cap with the Eagles will be next Wednesday on Kenyan soil against the Harambee Stars in matchday four of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
