CAF Champions League: Yannick Ndjeng scores to push Esperance at top
Esperance Sportive Tunis beat Chlef of Algeria 3-3 over the weekend in their Matchday 2 clash of the Orange champions’ league. Cameroonian, Yannick Ndjeng scored at the death of the match to secure the win. Esperance opened the score on a first half penalty through Khaled Mouelhi but Chlef equalized before the end of the first 45 minutes. Upon resumption, Algerians mounted efforts and snatched the lead in 5 minutes. This lasted for a very short period as Mouelhi converted another penalty to equalize for title holders. Yannick Ndjeng dismissed all expectations for a draw and struck in the third qnd winning goal at the death of the encounter. Esperance occupy the top of the tables with 6 points.
Sunshine Stars of Nigeria and Etoile Sportive Sahel played a 0-0 game in Sousse while Berekun Chelsea of Ghana and TP Mazembe of the DR Congo drew 2-2.
