Cameroon’s defensive duo ruled out of Togo clash
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will be without Aurelien Chedjou and Danny Nounkeu when they take on Togo Saturday in the third round qualifiers of the FIFA World cup Brazil 2014.
Both centre halves have failed to recover in time from injuries they have been nursing with their respective clubs.
Aurelien Chedjou, who was recalled to the squad for the first time since October 2012, arrived in the Lions den with an ankle injury sustained a forthnight ago while playing for Lille in the French top flight.
He was later discharged on Tuesday by doctors of the national team as well as Danny Nounkeu who returned to his Turkish side Galatasaray to continue his rehabilitation on his knee.
Cameroon’s road to redemption must begin with a win against a resurgent Togo on Saturday at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium.
