CHAN 2014 friendly: Zimbabwe beats Gabon and Mali fails the Cape Town test

The ZimWorriorsbeat Gabon 2-0 in a warm up match played on Tuesday the 7th of January night at Rand Stadium in Johannesburg.

Donald Ngoma scored the first goal for Zimbabwe before his teammate Milton Ncube doubled the score after the break giving his team a boost of confidence going into their group B games in Cape Town.

Zimbabwe will face Morocco in their first competition match in the 12th of January, Ouganda and Burkina Faso are also in the same Group.

In another friendly match also played on Tuesday night at Cape Town’s Hartleyvale Stadium,Mali lost their second match in succession going down 1-0 against Cape Town club side Santos. The Eagles of Mali are in Group A where they are up against, hosts South Africa, Mozambique and Nigeria.

BafanaBafana team also defeated Milano FC 1-0 in a practice match played in 4 segments of 30 minutes. The only goal was scored from the penalty spot by Bernard Parker. ”For me the result was not important but I am very happy with the exercise.” Said coach Igesund.
