The president of the international football federation (FIFA), Sepp Blatter, has paid homage to two of Africa’s finest players of the century, the Nigerian Rashidi Yekini and the Senegalese Jules Bocandé who both died two week ago. To the Nigerian football federation, Blatter sent a condolence letter in which he said Yekini was one of the best players during the USA 1994 world cup and one of the pioneers of modern Nigerian football. In his letter to the Senegalese federation, Blatter said Bocandé had sacrificed a lot for the Senegalese football and that Boncandé will be remembered for his great talent and gentle nature.
