Gervinho, Arsenal slip at Norwich
The Cote d’Ivoire international and club teammates of Arsenal failed to impress their fans this weekend as they lost 1-0 to Norwich at Carrow Road.
Gervinho’s header at the hour mark lacked any force to frighten the home side whose strikers continued to press hard on the visitors defence line.
Despite the Gunners’ control of the ball for long periods, it was Norwich’s Grant Holt who converted an opportunity to put his team ahead and spoil Arsene Wenger’s plans for the day.
While Gervinho’s side had enjoyed a string of wins prior to the Norwich clash, Chris Hughton and his wards were tasting victory for the first time since the season kicked off.
Wenger, who admits his team was well below par over the weekend, has said on the club’s website that they would put this performance behind them and prepare to do battle with German side Schalk 04 in a EU Champions League game this Wednesday.
