Ghana: Chelsea coach der Pluijm rues missed chances against Cotonsport
The Dutchman admits it was a difficult game but believes his team could have found the net at least once.
“I’m very disappointed with the result. It was a difficult game but we deserved to have scored at least.”
Van der Pluijm blamed his players against his technical advices as they failed to score for the first time in the continental club championship.
“My players did not play to instructions. Also, Solomon Asante had two glaring chances to score but he failed to covert.”
With the tall order facing them in the second leg, the Berekum Chelsea coach remains upbeat about their chances.
“All is not lost yet. We can go there (Garoua), score and qualify. It is possible,” said Van der Pluijm.
The second leg will take place in a fortnight in the Northern Cameroonian city of Garoua.
