It was a goalless draw between Burkina Faso and Zambia last night in their last group match at South Africa 2013.

But a victorious draw indeed for the Stallions who sent the defending champions away and secured their place for the first knockout stage. According to the Stallions’ head coach, Paul Put, Tuesday night’s qualification is the greatest achievement of Burkina Faso as they last reached the quarterfinal of the nations cup at home in 1998. The Stallions took a solid defensive stand against the Chipolopolo and Put congratulated them for a job well done. Zambia captain, Kennedy Mweene admitted the toughness of the match as well as noted that they have been less efficient in front of goal in South Africa unlike last year. Zambia crash out while Burkina Faso continue the race with their next opponent to be known this evening between Tunisia and Togo.
