Tanzania’s wealthy club Azam FC  were  eliminated from this years continental action after going down 2-1 to Morocco’s  FAR Rabat FC  in their return second round tie staged at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah.

During the first leg encounter played in Dar es salaam, Tanzania a fortnight ago, both teams settled to a barren draw which appeared to be a massive boost for the Morocco side.

The Tanzanian’s sailed to the second round after seeing off Liberian opponents Barrack Young Controllers Football Club II [BYC II] 2-1 on aggregate.

Coached by Stewart Hall, Azam will now  focus their attention on the domestic Tanzania Mainland League where  they are set to cement their second position on the standings behind Dar Young Africans (Yanga) who have already clinched the title.
