Tanzania’s Taifa Stars jet off for Ethiopia for Sudan’s friendly tie
Tanzania National soccer team Taifa Stars comprising of 22 players left Dar es salaam on Monday for Addis Ababa Ethiopia for an International friendly match against Sudan..
The team will use the friendly match to shape up ahead of their June 2 World Cup qualifier Group C tie against Morocco.
The team was hosted with a special lunch by Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete at the Dar es salaam State House. On hand to introduce the players to the president was the team captain Juma Kaseja .
The President wished the team good luck in their forthcoming Morocco tie and urged the players to believe in themselves and show true Tanzanian fighting spirit.
Head coach Kim Poulsen, said he was impressed by his players playing attitude during the past one week they have been in residential training.
The Tanzanian’s are expected to leave Rabat, Morocco on June 3, according to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) information officer, Boniface Wambura.
A win against Sudan, the only East African team at the 2012 African Cup of Nations finals in South Africa, would put Stars in the perfect frame of minds ahead of the Marrakech clash.
