Togo: Didier Six named as new Togo coach
Didier Six, 57, is handling a national team for the first time, and his appointment as Togo boss is only his second coaching job after a stint at Strasbourg.
Togo have qualified for the second phase of the 2014 World Cup qualifying after edging out Guinea-Bissau 2-1 on aggregate. Both games were used as a trial for Six before his designation.
Togolese football is currently enjoying a peaceful spell following the resumption of the domestic league after nearly two years of interruption, the return of former captain Emmanuel Adebayor and Wednesday’s $1 million (€747,000) grant to the FTF by Fifa.
