Despite Togo’s two nil defeat against the DR Congo during matchday two of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, Emmanuel Matias is still confident they can turn things around. “I still believe we can qualify. With the help of God, anything can happen,” he said. Disappointed by the defeat, the Togolese however found somewhere to lay the blame; “It is an organizational problem” at the level of the Togolese team.

“Some players arrived late, because money had to be collected to register them on the list.” With The international matches almost rounding off, Matias has other things in his mind.  Still under contract with Nigerian Premier League side Heartland fc, the Togo international wants to spring up his career in a more advanced championship. “My objective is to get a good club and I pray that happens soon.” His wish might be answered in a few months’ time.
