Youthful Luwagga Kizito who plies his trade in Portugal side Leixoes has been recalled to the Uganda National soccer team Uganda Cranes.

The team is shaping up ahead of their crucial clash against Liberia in their 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifier in Monrovia on March 24.

The 19 year-old player star is likely to face stiff challenge from battle hardened Uganda ‘all-time –great” led by Mudde Musa, Tonny Mawejje, Mudde Musa, Godfrey Kizito and Hassan Wasswa for a first team place .

While naming a 25 man squad, head coach Bobby Williamson, said he was impressed by Luwagga sterling performance during Uganda’s 2-1 loss to Egypt in a friendly last year.

“Luwagga is doing very well in Portugal. It is time for him to join the senior team. If he does well in training, he will make it to the final team. This is how every player joins the national team and I wish him well,” Williamson said.

Uganda is second (two points) behind table leaders Senegal on four points.

With just over two weeks to the daunting West African trip, the Cranes coach has revealed that he can only commence training with a full squad five days to the match.

The Cranes are second in Group J, two points behind leaders Senegal, after pulling off two draws in their opening pair of games.

Uganda need a win in Monrovia to keep their World Cup hopes on course but Williamson’s revelations may raise concern.

The Scot further explained that although he will summon home-based players to the 30-man squad, he will only disclose the list after the arrival of the foreign contingent.

Uganda kicked off their Group J campaign with a creditable 1-1 draw in Angola before securing a similar result at home to Senegal.

For their part, Liberia lost 3-1 away to Senegal before a 0-0 home-draw against Angola.
