Ghanaian media covers 56th independence celebration in grand style
The nation’s most circulated newspaper, “Daily Graphic” wrote a banner
“Let’s Embrace Change”-President Mahama urges Ghanaians, splashing
picture of President John Dramani Mahama inspecting a parade of
security agencies and students at the Black Star Square in Accra in
“Each and every one of us has a responsibility to make meaningful and constructive contributions towards the growth and betterment of this
nation”, the paper quoted President Mahama.
The “Ghanaian Times” put a headline “Ghana is 56th Anniversary marked
in grand style”.
It splashed a portrait of President Mahama on its right top corner while it gave bold picture of Special Force in the Ghana Army displaying their skills on how to respond to emergency situations in the country. The special force consists of personnel from Army, Air Force, Navy and the Police.
According to the newspaper the “Special Force” of the Armed Forces on Wednesday exhibited spectacular skills at the Black Stars Square at the parade to commemorate 56th Independence Day.
“The smartness with which they boarded the military trucks at the square and the skilful display of weaponry, received thunderous applause from the crowd, it said.
Other private newspapers put up different headlines while radio and television stations used the event as the first news item in their bulletins.
