Nigerian army said it has killed about nine suspected Boko Haram militants during a shoot out on Friday in the Federal capital, Abuja.
The suspected terrorists were killed in an unfinished building located at the Kyari close, Zone E Apo Legislative Quarters, near the Gudu Cemetery.

Sources said the security forces followed intelligence reports which said that the uncompleted building was a venue for the meetings of the Boko Haram suspects.

The spokesperson for the Department of State Services (DSS), Marilyn Orgar, who conducted journalists round the property, said that the team came under gun attack from the building as they approached it

That prompted the security men to return fire killing eight and injuring 12 suspected Book Haram insurgents.

Soldiers, DSS operatives as well as policemen from the Abuja Police Command have cordoned off the area while detailed investigations have commenced on the incident.
