Thai premier tours Mozambique next week
The prime minster of Thailand Yingluck Shinawatra will be embarking on a tour of Mozambique next week as the first trip by a leader of the Asian country to the southern African nation since diplomatic relations were established in 1989, APA can report.Media reports monitored in Mozambique on Thursday say the visit will form part of a tour from 28 July to 2 August that includes stops in Tanzania and Uganda.
The Thai prime minister’s trip is intended to open up the country to trade and investment markets and strengthen bilateral ties with African country.
A group of business persons from the energy, food, construction and tourism sectors will accompany the prime minister.
The visit follows a meeting in Bangkok last month between Yingluck Shinawatra and Mozambique’s Minister for Transport and Communications, Paulo Zucula.
