Attacking mid fielder, Foued Kadir, who sells his trade in France stole the headlines again with an outlandish double for his club, Valenciennes, last weekend when they clashed with Bastia. The Algeria international is already walking on water. Since the start of this year’s season, the native of Martigues has been in great shape scoring five goals and assisting four for the Northern club. One of the most oustanding players in the Ligue 1, Kadir has received top grades from l’Equipe and France Football’s (sports magazines) analysts in their recent publications. Playing for a top flight club where creativity is not just an advantage but a necessity, the Algerian born mid fielder continues to blossom for the most part of the season with an outstanding output last year. Not even his attempted transfer to Olympic of Marseille that failed at the last minute did sway his concentration and impact his performance. He continues to stay focused and deliver the goods for his club, Valenciennes for which he pledged to play till 2013. Kadir is noted for his very strong will. In 2011, with an unbelievable strong will and support from his family and friends, he made an impressive comeback from a ligament injury bouncing back to the pitch stronger than he left. Truth be told, it is thanks to his unwavering character, undiluted humility, relentless effort and an insatiable hunger to know more that he is able to seduce anyone he has come across.
Called up for the first time to play for his country in April 2010, he had the good fortune of participating at the World Cup in South Africa and left the competition as one of the best players in his team. That was the first major tournament in his career and it quickly became clear that his career would change forever for the better. Kadir continued to impress his trainers even in his professional sphere. Within two years, he had already won the admiration of three coaches: Rabah Saadane, who took him to South Africa; Abdelhak Benchikha, Cheikh’s successor and Vahid Halilhodzic who has been the Fennecs’ coach since July 2011. He won his place in the team in three years. In his 29 years, the Algerian has made giant forward strides albeit he is sometimes forgotten. Kadir joined the Ligue 1 only in 2009. Now sparkling in his club side and comfortable in his national team, the Valenciennes mid fielder is heading for an activity intense season. The Algerian hopes to continue to upset the plans of Ligue 1 leaders while focusing on an exciting calendar that is waiting for him at home. First, make the trip to South Africa with the hope of winning the African Cup of Nations and then qualify his country for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Inchallah !
