Gabonese cyclists win three jerseys at Tropicale Amissa Bongo kickoff

The Gabonese international cycling tour christened the Tropicale Amissa Bongo kicked off Monday with the nationals already showing their intentuions.
The 147 km first lap that was run between Bitam (in the North of Gabon) and Ebolowa (South of Cameroon) saw the Gabonese team led by team captain Frédérique Obiang win three jerseys.
Ephrem Ekobena won the jersey for the best climber of the lap as well as the best Gabonese climber.
The third jersey for Gabon came as a hard work from team captain who enabled his team mate to finish on the podium and scoop the jersey for the best Gabonese.
Apart from Gabonese, Haddi Sofiane won the jersey for the best African of the lap which was one of the jerseys he won on the day including the jersey for the best youngster and best African.
Frederique Robert won the yellow jersey, the rose and that of the winner of the lap.
Cameroon’s Yves Ngue Ngock the jersey for the best combative athlete while the Erythrean team won the jersey for the best African team.
The second lap of the tour will be run in the Cameroonian capital, Yaounde on Tuesday.
