Kenya go down narrowly to England in the Wellington Cup in Newzealand

It was tears mixed with joy after the Kenya National rugby Sevens
lost narrowly 24-19 to England in the main cup of the Wellington
finals in Newzealand.
It one time Kenya looked poised to clinch the Cup with a 19-12 lead
but lost their touch in the breath-taking moments to pave way for
England to take charge of the proceedings.
Consequently,Kenya team is placed second on the IRB table
standings with 56 points behind top placed New Zealand who have 77
points. After the Wellington sevens, Samoa is 3rd,Fiji 4th, France
5th and South Africa 6th on the log.
The Kenyans coached by Mike Friday’ were a joy to watch.They gave
England breathless moments and it was just luck that evaded them in
the last ensuing moments with England holding their breath.
Prior to the finals, Kenya defeated South Africa (21-10) and New
Zealand (19-14) in the quarter finals and semi finals respectively.
Ahead of the New Zealand outing, Kenya was placed 6th on the log after
the first three series outings in Australia, Dubai and South Africa.
The next leg will be in Las Vegas next week where Kenya commands a
huge following from the American fans and the Kenyans in the diaspora.
