Kenyan Police Championships : Cheruiyot, Korir get vital points

With the absence of heavy weights, who were all in Europe and Asia for the major meetings, the Championships however enabled some athletes to distinguish themselves. Athletes like Simon Kimaru (10”3 in the 100 m), Nixon Chepseba
(1’45”6 in 800 m) and Geoffrey Mutai (28’23” in the 10 000 m) in the men’s category proved their worth. In the ladies’ category, Nelly Korir got picked points in the 800m(2’04”4) while Vivian Cheruiyoy, one of the few stars present lived up to expectations by registering a time of 4’06”06 in the 1500 m.
