Obame Anthony of Gabon beat his Samoan counterpart 9-2 by final score to move to the next stage of the event. Mali’s Keita Daba Modibo advanced after winning Irgashev Akmal of Uzbekistan 13-4 still by final score. The third African who came from Nigeria, Chukwumerije Chika Yagazie lost to Cuba’s Despaigne Robelis 0-1.
