Al Ahly to play AS Roma in UAE

AS Roma announced on their website that they will face Egyptian side Al Ahly in the Champions Golden Cup in Abu Dhabi on May 20.

The friendly will be taking place in the United Arab Emirates at the 25,000-capacity Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al-Ain. Kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 local time.

It will be the third meeting between the two clubs. In 2002 the two teams met for the first time, with Al Ahly winning 2-1 in Cairo. Six years later they met again in Cairo, and the Giallorossi defeated Al Ahly 3-0.

After siging Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, Roma became one of the most popular European clubs in Egypt. They now has more Egyptian Facebook followers than any other European club in the world.
