Karim Benzema has always been criticized for his role on the pitch. Despite his brilliant performance against Atlético Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, the French striker is usually being accused of having a secondary role in the team.
In his last talk to the press, Benzema talked about many aspects regarding his relationship with the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo. He has also responded to many critics. Benzema told “L’Equipe” magazine: “I believe that there’s a clear understanding between me and Cristiano Ronaldo in the pitch. We both joined the club in 2009. People always say that I’m just serving him, this is totally wrong”.
He added: “There’s a big harmony between both of us. He scored more goals thanks to his technical capacities. I don’t expect to be thanked when I make an assist to him. We’re friends and before all, we’re professional players!”.
