Bertrand Traore had an amazing 2016/17 season with Ajax, even though on a loan from Chelsea. In 39 appearances he scores 13 times, and provided enough opportunities for his team mates to score too. He also was one of his country’s and the tournament’s best players during the AFCON 2017 tournament.
The Burkina Faso forward had said at the end of the season that he would like to return to his original club, Chelsea, to fight for first team spot, but now it is looking less likely that he would be with the Premier League Champions next year. Antonio Conte doesn’t seem to have plans for the 21-year old in his squad.
Bertrand Traore was very instrumental against Lyon in the semi-finals of the Europa cup as he scored twice in his side’s 4-1 demolition of the French side. No wander he has caught the eye of Lyon and they are very close on signing him for a fee of about 17 million pounds. The club hopes to convince the Burkinabe to agree personal terms by the end of this week, as they have already advanced with his bonus structure negotiations.
A move to the French side will be a very promising one, as he would be sure of first team spot, at least for the start. and if his form is anywhere close to his Ajax form, then he will most likely have an amazing season.
