Champions League Preview: Real Madrid Still The Team To Beat ?

FINALLY !  Champions League group stage starts TONIGHT  with Real Madrid looking to win Europe’s top club competition for a third straight year with Zidane.

Here is a quick look at the 8 groups:

Group A: Benfica, Manchester United, Basel, CSKA Moscow

Group B: Bayern Munich, Paris Sain-Germain Anderlecht, Celtic

Group C: Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Roma, Qarabag

Group D: Juventus, Barcelona. Olympiakos, Sporting

Group E: Spartak Moscow, Sevilla, Liverpool, Maribor

Group F: Shakhtar Donetsk, Manchester City, Napoli, Feyenoord

Group G: Monaco, Porto, Besiktas, Leipzig

Group H: Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur, Apoel

Real Madrid has won the Champions League three times in the past four years, and is now sure looking for their fourth one in 5 years to be the first team since Bayern Munich (1974-76) to be THE CHAMPIONS in three straight years.

Real Madrid is currently the betting favourite to lift the trophy, followed by PSG, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

On the personal level, Cristiano Ronaldo will have the opportunity to add to his UCL-record 105 goals.. Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema can also climb the scoring charts this season; his 51 goals are fifth-most all time, and he’s five away from tying  Ruud van Nistelrooy.
