Gianluigi Donnarumma set to sign new deal with AC Milan

Gianluigi Donnarumma came under lots of criticism and controversy after he didn’t renew his contract with AC Milan which expires at the end of 2017/18 season. Many even suggests it is his agent who is behind the teenager’s decision not to renew his contract, because of selfish interests and even suggested that his career could be ruined. The anger of the fans was further demonstrated during the U-21 tournament, where some fans threw fake money at Donnarumma who was at goal representing Italy, in a gesture to say all he cares about is money. And as expected, lots of other fans took to social media to express their frustrations.

Now, it is believed that things have calmed down and Gianluigi Donnarumma could be on his way to signing a new contract with AC Milan. The club’s representatives met with those of the young goalkeeper on Thursday, including his family, to negotiate a new deal and both parties are confident a deal could be brokered.

After the meeting, the club CEO, Marco Fassone had this to say… “I think that the part of the deal regarding the player and family is close, the other is more complicated,”

“It is a large package deal involving salary, benefits, clauses, a commission, possible clauses on future sales of the player.”

The likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid had already set their eyes on the Italian shot stopper and were already looking for ways to bring him to their side. But now, if these reports are to be believed, then Gianluigi Donnarumma would remain in Milan.
