Hakan Calhanoglu joins AC Milan from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported fee of 25 million Euros and for a duration of 4-years. The Turkish International who had an excellent 2016/17 season is now the 6th player to arrive AC Milan this summer in their new project of rebuilding the club. The club already signed Mateo Mussachio, Franck Kessie, Ricardo Rodriguez, Andre Silva and Fabio Borini, and with everything being equal, more players will soon join in.
Hakan Calhanoglu spent 3 seasons with the Bundesliga side and even though he didn’t play during his last 4 months for a ban he received in relation to a deal he broke in 2011 when he joined Trabzonspor, there is great optimism he will start his season with the Italian giants in fine form. He didn’t stop training and this matters a lot. With his set-piece ability among many other traits, he can add a lot of value to the team now.
The 23-year old had this to say on the Leverkusen website… “I would like to thank the club, my colleagues and above all the fans. The support was sensational, even during my four-month ban.”
AC Milan will be hoping to regain their dominance of Europe as they prepare for the start of next season. With the amount they have already spent and could still spend, we can see just how serious the club is.
