Cameroonian neighborhoods will surely enjoy participating at this year’s OFC Challenge championships until August 31st.
During the school holidays (July and August), young football fans (16 to 25 years old) organize themselves in their neighborhoods and often in stadiums, to fill their days with beautiful football in a well structured holiday championship.
The support these young football fans are getting from Orange Cameroun within the framework of the holiday championships has known, over time, a continuous progression, an even bigger implication, as well as a national impact all across the country.
This year, Orange Cameroun are taking part in nearly 90 tournaments across the country, with official openings since July 2018.
Each one of these tournament has an average of a dozen teams. and each one is played under two formulas:
A “league” formula: for four weeks, teams play a 3 point game; the winner is the one who gets the most points.
A “Cup” formula: for three weeks, the teams compete in direct playoffs. This part of the championship started with a draw for the qualified teams on July 23rd.
As part of the 2018 edition, Orange Cameroon is particularly keeping an eye on the Douala and Yaounde championships.
