Liverpool plans to compete as favorites as they keep their best players

Gone are the days when Liverpool will readily sell their main player just because another club can pay well for him. Back in 2014, Luis Suarez for example was sold to Barcelona, even though he was the main player who helped the team to a second-place finish in the League the previous season. Now, Barcelona is ready to pay more than 100 million Euros for Philippe Coutinho, but Liverpool has rejected the bid and have insisted no amount of money will buy him.

Well, this is the kind of gesture which teams do when they are ready to compete for titles. Liverpool play their first Premier League game on Saturday against Watford and will be ready with a very tough squad as they hope to be title contenders this year. The Reds have already brought in long time target Mohamed Salah, who has shown to be a good value for the money throughout the pre-season and the likes of Andrew Robertson and Dominic Solanke too are great prospects.

Now James Milner will be able to return to his original midfield role and will give the best of his services from there. With key players like Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson and Emre Can, Liverpool will surely be a force to reckon with in the Premier League.

Other teams too have re-enforced their squads and will give Liverpool a run for their money, but at the end of the day, the race will be an open one, and the team with the best tactics, resilience, consistency and injury-free, will be favorites to win.
