After helping AS Roma finish second in the league which ensures automatic qualification for the Champions League, Luciano Spalleti has left the club as it was announced earlier today. This just comes a couple of days after the legend of the club, Francesco Totti, bid an emotional farewell. It is interesting that many accused the Italian coach to have mistreated Totti during his final year at the club, but one would not know for certain if their departures are correlated in any way.
However, Spalleti was thanked by the club’s President for his good job and has also promised the fans to get a good enough replacement who will continue with Roma in the right direction. The 58-year old has been linked to many clubs already, but the closest has been Inter-Milan and the rumours has even been backed by the former Inter President Massimo Moratti.
There has been no very close links as to who will replace Spalleti in Roma, but it is clear that the club have been preparing bids for their potential candidate.
