Nolito left Celta Vigo for Manchester City like a legend, but his legendary status didn’t help him in England and now he has returned to Spain, even though to another club, Sevilla. The Spanish International will look to forget his time with the Citizens and will hope to emulate or even better his performances at his former club Celta Vigo.
Nolito had previously worked with Sevilla’s new coach, Eduardo Berizzo, at Celta Vigo for 2-years and would be sure that he could succeed under him at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. With Vitolo set for an Athletico Madrid move, Nolito would seem the perfect replacement for him and that is why he was one of the top transfer targets of Eduardo.
The 30-year old is the 4th signing of the season for Sevilla, after the return of Ever Banega, and the signing of Pizarro and Luis Muriel. They will look to repeat mostly the beginning of last year’s season and will hope to continue in the same spirit till the end. The club had performed very well at the beginning of the season under Jorge Sampaoli, as they were competing for top 2 spots, but ran out of steam towards the end of the season and finished 4th.
The team have already travelled to Japan for their pre-season tour and Nolito is expected to join them on Tuesday and at least get acquainted before the sea on starts.
