Three years ago, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil decided to leave his former club Real Madrid. The German midfielder was one of the most talented players in the Spanish club however, he decided to put an end to his experience there.
Ozil talked recently about the circumstances of this departure. In his last book, the player wrote: “Surprisingly, José Mourinho and I left Real Madrid in the same period. It was of the hardest decisions in my life. I wanted to win the UEFA Champions League there”.
Ozil added that he has even had a conflict with his father because of this decision: “I had to make a decision to save my career. When I made this move, my father was very mad and he has even closed my personal page on Twitter!”.
