English Premier League side, Sunderland, aren’t keen on signing Nigerian striker, Chinedu Obasi, after he has been on trial with the club.
The 29-year-old ex-Schalke forward underwent trial with the Black Cats but failed to make an impression on Sunderland manager, Sam Allardyce who said Obasi in not ready to make an impact yet. Obasi has been struggling with his fitness after breaking a leg earlier in the year, he made only 10 Bundesliga starts in three years with Schalke after joining them from Hoffenheim before he agreed to terminate his contract this summer.
“He has been fraught with a bad injury, which is why he’s not been fixed up with a club yet, but we’d like to see him for this week and perhaps next week.” said Allardyce.
“He’s here and if he can show us anything we haven’t got then there may be something we can do.” he added.
